Q: Update Notifications? Install from SD? Install from Market?
It’s really simple:
- Install from SD:
No download-time (’cause from SD), No update notifications
- Install from Market: Download-time (cause from Market)
Update notifications
We would recommend:
for quick restore on the way → install from SD
for complete phone-restore → be at home, use Wifi, install from Market
Hint:
you can always re-install from Market
just go to Archive → choose an app → install from Market

Q: Is it possible to backup app-settings (app-data) with AppMonster?
The policies of Android do not allow access to app-data from
other apps and it’s ok so, it’s better for your security.
It would be a bad idea, if any app would have access to the data of other apps,
just think what could happen …
But on this point, other apps (like Angry birds + scores) should give
you an option to save your settings/data.

Q: How do I configure AppMonster on my Samsung Android phone
to use an external SD card?
For most Samsung Android phones this will work:
Step 1:
AppMonster → Menu → More → Preferences → Backup Folder
change to /mnt/sdcard/external_sd/appmonster2/
Step 2:
use any kind of file manager or Samsung Tools on your PC
to move the content of old backup folder (…/sdcard/appmonster2/)
to new (…/sdcard/external_sd/appmonster2/)

Q: What means App2SD?
App2SD is an Android feature available for Android version >= 2.2
App2SD means, an installed app can be moved to SD-card in order to get more internal memory.
Not every app can be moved, the developer of an app has to allow this.
